[BPSDB]As promised in the title, more quackery which Skills For Health feel is appropriate twenty first century healthcare. It will be noted that Naturopathy, Nutriwoo and Yoga are missing. I feel that, because of their more extensive claims, these need more detailed analysis – which will happen when I have more time. (more…)

[BPSDB]I’ve been reading Ofquack’s criteria for professional registration of CAM practitioners here, after Deano on the Bad Science forum pointed out some of the inanities to be found therein. It’s quite scary that this sort of stuff is receiving Establishment backing but as Private Eye and others have pointed out, Charles Windsor has been pushing strongly for this. Consider the Windsors’ favourite CAM, homeopathy, for example. (more…)

[BPSDB]Jeni Barnett LBC recently broadcast a phone-in on LBC in which she made her own attempt to ressurect the MMR zombie. Ben Goldacre recently posted it in his blog and fisked it. You won’t be able to read it now though because LBC’s lawyers got heavy and threatened him with breach of copyright. They may be technically correct (I am not a lawyer) but I didn’t notice any Jeni Barnett CDs when I was shoppingthis morning so Ben’s posting was not costing them any money. I suspect the real reason was that LBC are not happy with Ben’s criticism of their irresponsible behaviour. (more…)
