@JH:
You make random claims left, right and centre, yet provide zero references to back them up.
How on earth does that paper even remotely support SCENAR in particular, apart from you telling me that it is similar to another device that you claim is similar to SCENAR?
I ask again: What does that paper have to do with SCENAR?
And I expect a more scholarly response than "because I say so".
Where does that paper even mention SCENAR?
(Free clue: nowhere)

Now, please support your claim that "...Articles have already been published in reputable peer reviewed journals like this one in JBJS...", in a logical and coherent manner.

You mentioned there is no credibile journals backing the claims of this technology... Well this paper has everything to do with the way it works.

SCENAR is an Interactive Neurostimulation device, I was treated with a similar device called the Interx and I got very inquisitive as to how this thing could possibly work, so she emailed me details of numerous case studies that have been performed and this was just the first of the peer reviewed papers and apparantly there is more to come!

Since I read a lot of newspaper reports, I was made aware that my cordless DECt phone was emitting a constant stream of microwave radiation 24/7. I then came across the **** low radiation phones, very happy with them - but to be honest the best route is to use a wired phone, but if you must be mobile around your home go for an **** phone which I bought from a company call ****.

I'd suggest it's fairly "real" people discriminate (to verying degrees granted) on the flimsiest of group differences.

I haven't watched the show, but it does sound like it was overblown and directed towards finding a "we're racist" outcome. I suppose that's inevitable when you have what is explicitly meant to be a replication of the earlier event. Of course it's going to end up replicating it.

That said, the procedure clearly has the potential to give some really important insights into how people behave when they're on the receiving end of discrimination. The brown-eyed group are just playing a role they've been assigned. But the way the blue-eyed people tells us a lot about the dynamics of discrimination, assuming they're not simply playing a role (which depends on how "real" they think the whole thing is.)

Anecdote is not evidence. If someone were to post that eating xocai gave them indigestion, would you accept that as evidence that xocai is unhealthy?

See if I was on badscience blogs you could have read my lovely blog post about the same thing:

http://andyourelectronmicroscope.wordpress.com/2009/10/30/the-event-how-racist-are-you/

The important thing to note is that this was not an experiment, it never was an experiment. It has been lauded as such in some social psychology textbooks and mentioned in almost glowing terms in others as a step forward in many, many more. But it is by no stretch an experiment.

It's also to my mind a highly flawed way of confronting racism and predjudice. See blog post for more details ;)

apgaylard, I think you are behind the times. Articles have already been published in reputable peer reviewed journals like this one in JBJS:
