Did an Earthquake Create the Turin Shroud?

February 18, 2014

Last week I read a claim that the Turin Shroud could in fact date from the time of Christ and is not a medieval forgery.

The reason for believing it to be a forgery is the fact that three independent tests have “concluded with 95% confidence that the shroud material dated to 1260–1390 AD”. So what does the Telegraph’s Science Correspondent have that might necessitate a rethink? (more…)

Warsi on Secular Society

February 15, 2012

Baroness Warsi has been complaining about the ‘militant secularisation’ of society and the ‘marginilisation of religion’. If she means that the views of the religious are not deferred to in policy making, she is probably right but does she really want to change that? As a Muslim, she should perhaps be careful what she wishes for. (more…)

An Email To Nadine Dorries

September 3, 2011

I have been following the proposed amendment to the Health & Social Care Bill proposed by Nadine Dorries and Frank Field with interest and some concern – particularly the lack of evidence of any bias in counselling offered by the likes of Marie Stopes International and the British Pregnancy Advisory Service. “The Genesis Enigma”

August 4, 2009

[BPSDB]In today’s METRO the 60 second interview is with Dr Andrew Parker who claims that the Genesis story matches the history of the Universe so accurately that it could only have been written with divine intervention. When I went to Sunday School I don’t recall them mentioning which verses outlined the creation of particles and nucleii but it’s been a while so I thought I would take a closer look. I’ll be working from the King James version. (more…)

The UCKG Magazine “Faith In Action”

June 7, 2009

“Faith in Action” is the name of a magazine published by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Having read the 31 May issue, I think that “Selling Salvation by the Pound” might be a more appropriate title. (more…)

The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) has not abandoned its professed belief that children are possessed by demons, it would appear. (more…)
