“Faith in Action” is the name of a magazine published by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Having read the 31 May issue, I think that “Selling Salvation by the Pound” might be a more appropriate title.
A number of articles bang on about the “Campaign of Israel” and “sacrificing”. Both of these appear to involve the marks believers donating a large chunk of cash to the UCKG in order to awaken God’s interest in them. It appears that, in the eyes of the UCKG, God is some sort of Third World bureaucrat who requires a bribe before he takes an interest in your case.
First there is tithing. Now a lot of independant churches, lacking the accumulated wealth and state subsidies of the established churches, need contributions from their congregations to function but the UCKG takes the concept a whole lot further. It would appear that God holds out on you unless you tithe. Consider this letter from one Ingrid Jagdeo:-
“In July, 2008, I was working for a Local Authority and got promoted. That same day, I was in a car accident and suffered significant injuries to my back and leg. I was unable to fill that position and, subsequently, lost the promotion to someone else. After recovering in November last year, I started attending the UCKG. I had heard about being faithful to God intithes but I had always struggled with the idea. I thought it was all about the money and not something I felt like doing. I didn’t mind offering when I could, but nothing more than that. Then at the beginning of 2009, I decided to put God to the test and started being faithful in my tithes. A couple of weeks after making that decision He honoured me and I was promoted to the position that I had lost because of the accident. God has showed [sic] me that he doesn’t joke around.”
It does not seem to occur to the writer of this letter, which we obviously must accept as genuine, that when the opportunity for promotion opened up again the Local Authority remembered that she had been considered suitable last time (and perhaps being fearful of being sued under the Disability Discrimination Act) decided to promote her. And just consider the implications of the second and third sentences. Implies that if you don’t pay up, God will break your leg and back. Makes Him sound like Tony Soprano.
Beyond tithing, there is the Campaign of Israel or sacrificing. Bishop Julio explains:-
“If the Lord puts it in your heart to sacrifice an item of value to you, here is a way to make the sacrifice perfect and more pleasing to God: Instead of bringing the item to the church, you should make your physical sacrifice of searching for a place to sell that item and the present the money you sold it for in your envelope on the altar. Doesn’t this require more effort and isn’t it more painful than simply bringing the item itself?
“…now that the Holy Spirit is giving this direction, let us offer the perfect sacrifice always.”
In other words:-
Listen up proles. Donating your stuff to the church is all very well but it means I’ve got to traipse around selling it and frankly I can’t be arsed. Sell it yourself and just give me the readies.
For the record, I am not claiming that the magazine used these exact words. I would have thought that was obvious but judging by recent comments(8 August 2012), it is not.
In a question and answer article sacrifice is defined as:-
“…the surrender of something prized for the sake of something higher or more valuable. It’s the highest expression of what you believe you will achieve”
In other words, if you want something out of life, God might arrange it for you in consideration of a well stuffed brown envelope. It has obviously occurred to someone that giving wedges to the UCKG is really no guarantee of success because the final Q&A reads:-
“Why is it that some people are blessed in Campaigns of Israel and others aren’t? Because unfortunately some people don’t understand the real meaning of sacrifice and consequently they didn’t sacrifice at all.”
Can’t have the marks faithful getting the idea that slipping readies to the ‘pastor’ does not actually achieve anything, can we? So convince them it’s their own fault and if they give a little lot more, God might change his mind.
UCKG should change its name to “The Church of God the Bent Bureaucrat”.

Several of my students from the local FE college attend this church.
I’d love someone to do a serious bit of investigative reporting. I think they would spot me coming.
The best story yet – a single mother of about 30, not the brightest spark. She was struggling to complete the course, juggling childcare, college work, crap accomodation, and debt (several hundreds of ££ rent arrears). The church offered to start one of their chains of prayer for her – sounds a bit like a chain letter, where you get added on to a list that will pay you thousands when enough people get the letter. Great, except – first she had to tithe them £500 to start the chain.

hello baddest, yes i think you are right, i think they would spot you coming a mile away, they would see the words ninkumpoop above your head and that would give the game away. Now, in an attempt to ellivate your topics to an adult level, let us consider for one moment, yes,that means thinking. Now the word Tithe, for example is an old Biblical principal, and infact Jewish people tithe and muslims and many other people do , you give 10 percent of what you own to the house of God, in our case for Gods’s work to continue, toilets to be cleaned other churches to be built, staff to be available and manned phones 24 hours a day, for us to get on busses and get in vans and go to old peoples homes and run the nursery, and teach people english for free and the support groups for the youths and the pastors and assistants that set up all the community works we do including clean ups and visiting hospitals and prisons,and helping the poor in other countries and contributing to orphanages and feeding villages in Africa and elsewhere, phew!!!!!!
we need the money in the house, not in anyone particular house only the Lords temple and infact to tithe 500 pounds you would have to have a lump sum income of £5,000, nice, so she was not being asked to hand the money over to start a chain of prayer, that is free and available for everyone, I have been in the church for 5 years and i have never known such a thing, but if someone was poverty stricken, and living a rubbish life, they would be asked possibly ‘do you tithe?’ because to be quite frank this kind of cursed, rubbish life style where your money falls through your fingers like sand, is ‘A typical’ of a none tither.
If you read Malachi, the last book in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, you will read roughly
“bring your first fruits into the store house,” to make sure that there is enough money for the work of God and no deficit.
It then goes on to explain that if you do
“I shall open the windows of heaven and blessings will rain down upon you, ……..more than you can store”
“pressed down , shaken and over running”
God is intelligent, you see and principalled, if you take care of his business, put Him first in your life, honour Him, because He is God almighty, who made the Heaven and the Earth, Alpha and Omega, then He will take care of us also, If you are a child and your parents ask you to do something, a child willingly and joyfully does that difficult task, isn’t a parent pleased and may say,
‘because you have been such a good boy, we will go to the zoo at the weekend’ or ‘ you can have your friends to stay’ some similar
reward to make that child happy too.
I thought i would warn you, that the Holy Bible was NOT i repeat NOT written by the UCKG and if you follow this principal, (intead of judging before you know fully) you may seriously improve your life and find joy and a peace that no one else understands, not even you.

That chain of prayer sounds exactly like a chain letter. Which would make it a pyramid scheme and thus illegal. Is the prayer written down and passed on? If so I’d love to get hold of a copy.

A chain of prayer is this Jayceuaitch, you pick a number of day, say 7 days, and it may be, for example 7 Tuesdays, because you want to be healed of a disease, you want to fight arthritis. so you say, for 7 days on a Tuesday I will come, fight, pray, and share the companionship and humour of the service. get encouragement and build faith and try not to break this agreement. In doing that people feel they have a purpose and get their strength, they also commit and at the same time overcome other problems like lonliness and isolation, where as they might not have overcome before because they did not have the determination to step out side their houses.
They poodle along to us, unless they get a lift from our driver, because they are too disabled, (Thank you Driver such a faithful and compassionate member of the church) and they pray and fight and improve, It’s about acting upon faith, using positive action and faith together to bring about a change.
No one, is ever obliged to give anything, we say it in the services all the time.if you wish to give 30p or £10 that is between you and God, it is important for people who come to us to understand, that we love the people that come if they come with nothing always, that is why we welcome homeless people, they come with absolutely nothing because Jesus Christ, our hero and saviour said,
“Come as you Are”
isn’t He beautiful, and that is our faith! Come as you are,
And we see enormous improvement in people, infact you should come, because you state that
“this sounds exactly like a chain of letter”
that means you know nothing about us, and are full of synacism, you could come and find out for sure and drown all that negativity with the positivity that you receive with us.

What makes me sick is the fact that someone, who don’t even know what the UCKG is doing in the 176 countries where they are, just read a magazine and without going there to verify the information (that he is just assuming) with the reality of what the UCKG is and does.
Please, before publish something, look it from all the angles possible and when you have a solid conclusion you may publish it.

Other Churches do not charge for salvation.
I accept that other independant churches tithe but they don’t demand that their followers sell their possessions. Why does the UCKG need so much more money than others? Anything to do with certain senior bishops’ expensive life-styles?
The only liars here are the UCKG who convince people that they are possessed by demons which the UCKG “remove”. In other words they encourage dependancy on the part of their flock. Classic exploitative guru behaviour.

No, if you did you would understand that this is done for many reasons and is completely Biblical. firstly, as it says in Hebrews, God tests the attitudes of the Heart. So, if you are attatched to your money, you will perish with it. Take it and leave and take it with you when you die.
Secondly, do you believe enough in the work of God to be indpendant entirely upon the ordnance, No, then take your freedom and Go. You either give your life to God or you die because your salvation is lost. You went to go forward and then you drew back, this cowadice infuriates God, He has to see that you put your money where your mouth is, your courage and your life in the hands of God entirely, you trust God for your Bread and your Butter, for your healthcare for everything, it is truly God, there is ordnance through which there is blessing. This is the way of God and only if you have faith do you accept it, then if you do not have faith to accept it you cannot participate in it, it is too foreign for you to understand, so leave. This is our faith and it comes from the authority of God.

Our brain doesn’t like blank spaces, so when it encounters questions without answers it searches for something to put in the blank spaces. And because we’re driven by our own perceptions, needs and prejudices, we’re not always objective. We’re blind to our blind spots and think we ‘know,’ and the results can be disastrous – “I know what your real intentions are. You think I don’t know what’s going on in that head of yours? I can tell by the look on your face exactly what you’re thinking.’ Such words indicate we’ve got the other person ‘pegged,’ and feel no need to consider the situation further because we couldn’t possibly be wrong. When I came to the church, I was a drug addict, I was depressed, I was broke, and did not have hardley anything to give. But I still got hours of councelling, from some of the kindess pastors I have ever met. So you who wrote this article are one of the most ridiculous writers I have ever heard of. Oh dear oh dear.
It is terrible to see dear church members getting so upset when ‘people of the world’ as you would put it try to uncover what goes on in the UCKG, and you come out with things like ‘if you don’t like it- don’t come.’ How very Christ like.
I am a former member of the UCKG. The chain of prayer thing is not some thing sinister. It’s just a commitment to attend church for 7 weeks, so you will recieve counciling and recieve the messages and focus on your particular problem and try to tackle it.
It is true that the church helps many people who are in a very bad way, and they helped me too. However, some of the messages are extremly unnessecarry. For example, the campaign of Israel is absurd. And I can’t believe I fell for it. But when you are in a weak point in your life, and you are doing a chain of prayer, or a number or chain of prayers, and your hear the preaching again, and again, and again, you are full of hope and just carry on through. Of course it is true, that you need to work hard to get what you want in life, but the Church abuses this to indirectly bully people into giving. The church does not preach about the grace and mercy of Jesus, where you get what you want because you don’t deserve it- (that’s why Jesus died- Doh!) But, that you need to sacrifice, as if what Jesus did wasn’t good enough. And the UCKG uses articles like this, articles that point out the absolute obvious, to say to poor nieve christians, that the UCKG is being persecuted, and not to worry, God will bless you more in the end. How absurd.
It is true that the UCKG gets people to stay by getting them to believe that they are possesed. It is true, some people are very disturbed and need serious help. But their message is confusing, vague, not clear, and with all the drama of a deliverance service, vulnerable people are shocked and fooled into thinking the always need help. And weak ones are constantly ‘fighting’ for their deliverance,
My life has been so good since I finally woke up. A couple of years and a couple of grand later. I could go to the Sun or the guardian or channel 4 with my experience. But it would only lead to giving Christ a bad name. There are a lot of good Christian things going on in this country, but there are some bad ones as well. Unfortunately the bad ones get shown more than the good.
UCKG people, beware. hold on to the little money and little things you have. God will bless you in His own time, not when you demand. Those pastors will never starve, but you might. Trust God but use you intelligence as well. And if you really trust God there is no need to be so defensive, is there?

Grace you are a very confused and I am sure by what you have written you do not read your Holy Bible often. As God said to put him in rememberance of his promise’s to scarifice and trust in Him. You do not go to church for the people or pastors thats why many people find themselves moving from church to church; you go to begin a new life with Christ, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. The pastors are human as well and mistakes can happen, but you also perceive messages with a very narrow mind not just you Grace but quite a few people who look at the campaign as absurd. UCKG does not force you to take part in the campaign in fact they tell you if you have doubts about it do not even take part as it has to be done wholeheartedly.God has made the biggest sacrifice not just for my life but yours and everyone else, he gave his only son. Mankind is so selfish, no one would ever do that to show there loyalty, obedience and love to God. People do not need to talk smack about the UCKG. Everyone knows what they are doing and do it willingly with the guidance and direction from God. You obviously have little faith and when you heard you had to sacrifice something painful and you knew it was money, look how quick you judged the church and the pastors. For all those who took part in the campaign and nothing happened you did it with a bad heart and you obviously did not obey God and his direction to you. People who do the campaign are showing they are trusting God wholeheartedly and are not greedy for money. UCKG does not sell blessings or salvation but they preach the gospel; the Holy words of God if you do not like take that up with God. Stop trying to make your issues everyone elses. The Holy Bible states you are suppose to tithe and give offering, if you do not tithe you robbing God. Tithe is only 10%.THERE IS ALSO A DIFFERENCE WITH AN INSULT AND WRITING THE TRUTH AND I AM WRITING THE TRUTH.
People do manifest for those who do not know, there are possessed people. Why is it so hard for you to believe that God has armed the Pastors and Bishops and all his children with His authority and Power. There is a balance in life whether you belive it or not, good & evil, God and devil, sun and moon, heaven and earth, light and dark and so on.
If you died where do you think you are going????? some people still dont belive in heaven but an inbetween…..there is no such thing it is straight heaven or hell. It is your choice, make the right one very soon. Your obviously not filled with the Holy Spirit as your eyes are of bad; only seeing the bad, looking for an excuse for things you cannot understand. As a woman or man of God you do not put down the children of God for serving God no matter how, as long as the intentions are good. I take part in everything, I tithe and I am blessed more than I could ever know. Opportunities and things that I couldn’t do on my own God is doing for me. I know that the tithe and offerings I place on the alter is my faithfulness to God and is prospering me financially, physically and spirtually. All the tithes, offerings and donations go to the growth of the work of God; new buildings, building maintenance, faith in action magazine, youth groups and so much more greatness. This is a small part for the work of God to grow and as his child you are suppose to save souls, when one soul is saved all of heaven rejoices. That is the aim of the UCKG to help people to grow in their relationship with God, do God’s work and evangelise but if it is a charity like comic relief it is ok to give them millions for the BBC to pocket half of that money because of all the admin work, air taxes and all bills to get the products over to the countries in poverty but when UCKG do more than comic relief it is a problem and they are scam and people continue to knock them but your words means nothing, God’s word is what is important and God is prospering UCKG to continue to do the work of God.
I am 20 and I have written all of this and I have learned and prospered in so much.
It shows a true child of God does not lack faith, ask yourself do you lack faith? Faith alone is not enough, you need to be saved; go to church, repent and ask for forgiveness, get baptised in the Holy waters and with the Holy Spirit, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and obey the will of God not your will or way but God’s.
Remember the Holy Bible says you cannot enter the kingdom of God without being baptised.
Also
You can only enter the kingdom of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Remeber God see’s all and knows the true intentions of your heart, when you lie your only lying to yourself.

I am sorry you decided to leave, most people decide that they don’t understand alot of things when they want to have a boyfreind outside the church and cuddle up to someone that is not a believer. I have seen it many times, it is all going well they ‘get taken in’ as you put it and then temptation comes along and it all gets a bit confusing, they decide, having asked all around their friends and people of the world and tatty church members who have gently gently attitude, (don’t be too radical you might improve your life kind of thing) and then they make a decision that the church is appalling because one has to keep ones nickers on and live a proper Christian life. People don’t keep coming because they think they are possessed, lots of people come to us not believing that it exists, but realize that Jesus Christ himself cast out demonds, (in the new testament) demonic posession is all the way through the Bible.
Well, i hope that you wil make the right choices in life and consider your salvation and that your personal life lines up with the word of the Lord, compassion and mercy is one thing,
throwing it all away for a bit of what you fancy is something else.
Come and rebuild your faith and stop letting discouragement make a home in your heart.

Interesting experience Grace and brilliant that you finally ‘woke up’ as you put it – but I would argue that you going to the Guardian or Channel 4 or anyone else wouldn’t give Christ a bad name but instead, and deservedly, give the UCKG a bad name for preying on vulnerable people. Good for you for seeing through them! I’m not religious myself but neither am I anti-religious, people should be free to believe what they want to. What I am against is people using religion as a business opportunity to make money from others. And that’s what the UCKG do. We really need people like you Grace to stand up and speak out – your story will inspire others. And it won’t give Christianity a bad name – like I say – it will merely expose those who exploit believers financially…

I am also an ex-member of the UCKG and I would initially like to say that there are many “good” members within the church with good intentions but this does not hide the fact that I find the people who run the church abhorrent. There is no doubt in my mind that they are misleading people. UCKG teaches the “old covenant” way rather than the “new covenant” way which teaches that Jesus did it all for us on the cross by His Grace – there is basically no effort on our part to “get God’s attention” as long as you seek Him in praise and worship. His mercy and Grace will abound in your life – Matthew 6:33. Our faith is a simple, beautiful faith but men contaminate it with their opinions, thoughts and even their own religion which gives Jesus a bad name.
The last straw for me – was the “Campaign of Israel”. At the time of the Campaign my life was transformed just by living under the “grace covenant”. God led to me understand Grace just by my asking, questioning and then He would lead me to scripture or other resources to back it up. This is when I truly felt the presence of God and having a personal relationship with Him. Awesome! The church, however, was promoting the fact that if you “give your all” you will gain God’s attention and you will be blessed. This contradicted my life completely and who was I to believe – Man or God? The church was indirectly promoting the idea that Jesus’ sacrifice was not enough. This is a sin! So the next question is – why do people see their prayers answered after sacrifice? – Simple – it’s faith! You’ve put so much effort into the sacrifice and you believe so much that your prayer will be answered, it’s answered! But if your prayer is not answered – the normal response from the pastor is “you didn’t do enough” – which I can only imagine can be quite distressing to the person sacrificing.
There was also another “last straw”. Like I said – our faith is a simple faith and I could not continue to belong to a church who justified paying £7m to build a church in Peckham! There are many poor people in London but UCKG continue to build their empire on every spare street corner – to collect money from the poor. They will argue that they want to preach the gospel to literally every corner of the earth but genuine people of God do not need 20 or 30 churches in one area to accomplish this. This sickens me. Jesus came to help the poor – not to exploit them Luke 4:16-21. Jesus also says not to store up treasures on earth Matthew 6:20 – check out their published accounts on the charity commission website – It tells a story, in my view their story is very dubious!

To finish, we are in the days when there will are a lot of false prophets popping up on every street corner, claiming to be of God, but I implore you – seek God for all your understanding – not a pastor, not a bishop. Please do not get me wrong – There are genuine men and women of God out there called to lead people to Christ but confirm with God if they are true – be intelligent – God will show you. He did to me and now my eyes are wide open and I am free, truly happy and blessed.

The pastors are human as well and mistakes can happen, but you also perceive messages with a very narrow mind not just you Grace but quite a few people who look at the campaign as absurd. UCKG does not force you to take part in the campaign in fact they tell you if you have doubts about it do not even take part as it has to be done wholeheartedly.God has made the biggest sacrifice not just for my life but yours and everyone else, he gave his only son. Mankind is so selfish, no one would ever do that to show there loyalty, obedience and love to God. People do not need to talk smack about the UCKG. Everyone knows what they are doing and do it willingly with the guidance and direction from God. You obviously have little faith and when you heard you had to sacrifice something painful and you knew it was money, look how quick you judged the church and the pastors. For all those who took part in the campaign and nothing happened you did it with a bad heart and you obviously did not obey God and his direction to you. People who do the campaign are showing they are trusting God wholeheartedly and are not greedy for money. UCKG does not sell blessings or salvation but they preach the gospel; the Holy words of God if you do not like take that up with God. Stop trying to make your issues everyone elses. The Holy Bible states you are suppose to tithe and give offering, if you do not tithe you robbing God. Tithe is only 10%.THERE IS ALSO A DIFFERENCE WITH AN INSULT AND WRITING THE TRUTH AND I AM WRITING THE TRUTH.
People do manifest for those who do not know, there are possessed people. Why is it so hard for you to believe that God has armed the Pastors and Bishops and all his children with His authority and Power. There is a balance in life whether you belive it or not, good & evil, God and devil, sun and moon, heaven and earth, light and dark and so on.
If you died where do you think you are going????? some people still dont belive in heaven but an inbetween…..there is no such thing it is straight heaven or hell. It is your choice, make the right one very soon. Your obviously not filled with the Holy Spirit as your eyes are of bad; only seeing the bad, looking for an excuse for things you cannot understand. As a woman or man of God you do not put down the children of God for serving God no matter how, as long as the intentions are good. I take part in everything, I tithe and I am blessed more than I could ever know. Opportunities and things that I couldn’t do on my own God is doing for me. I know that the tithe and offerings I place on the alter is my faithfulness to God and is prospering me financially, physically and spirtually. All the tithes, offerings and donations go to the growth of the work of God; new buildings, building maintenance, faith in action magazine, youth groups and so much more greatness. This is a small part for the work of God to grow and as his child you are suppose to save souls, when one soul is saved all of heaven rejoices. That is the aim of the UCKG to help people to grow in their relationship with God, do God’s work and evangelise but if it is a charity like comic relief it is ok to give them millions for the BBC to pocket half of that money because of all the admin work, air taxes and all bills to get the products over to the countries in poverty but when UCKG do more than comic relief it is a problem and they are scam and people continue to knock them but your words means nothing, God’s word is what is important and God is prospering UCKG to continue to do the work of God.
I am 20 and I have written all of this and I have learned and prospered in so much.
It shows a true child of God does not lack faith, ask yourself do you lack faith? Faith alone is not enough, you need to be saved; go to church, repent and ask for forgiveness, get baptised in the Holy waters and with the Holy Spirit, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and obey the will of God not your will or way but God’s.
Remember the Holy Bible says you cannot enter the kingdom of God without being baptised.
Also
You can only enter the kingdom of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember God see’s all and knows the true intentions of your heart, when you lie your only lying to yourself.

I’m a journalist making a short film about the UCKG at the moment, and especially about their emphasis on fund-raising.
This is not a film that is critical of religion, or even tithing. Instead it is about what I suspect is an over-zealous emphasis on money making by some of the pastors at the church.
We’re consulting other priests to explain how tithing ought to be done, and why the UCKG is not a good example of our church. Would you be happy to talk to me about your experiences with the church?

Hey all ive been reading all these comments careful and i seem to agree with alot of these comments, i was baptised into u.c.k.g this year in january and my experience within the fellowship was good, however i had a big feeling in me there was something not right when the pastors and assistants were alllwaaays talking about tithes, money, praying for jobs and full bank balances and everything of the world. forgeting what jesus said about rich people geting in to heaven etc..
they had me convinced that i had demonic influences at work in my life and i was delivered it seems.. but i didnt notice the church was more like a shop selling sweets and books and dvds and songs etc..
didnt jesus kick over tables in the pharasees temples for these things? i just hope people walk in faith and jesus will guide u in the righteous path and in the narrow way

If you read my post you would see that I understand the need for independent churches to tithe as they do not have the massive property portfolios of the more established churches. The Campaign of Israel goes way beyond tithing, as does the constant demands for ‘sacrifice’ in the magazine.

The gospel of Matthew famously says that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Yet that is exactly how the pastors of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God seem to be conducting their affairs. Over of the past month, Times Money has been investigating the practices of this Church. Our findings are astonishing and deplorable in equal measure.
The Church — which originated in Brazil but now has 39 branches in Britain — encourages its congregation not to pay their bills so that they can instead donate more money “to God”. Pastors even urge worshippers to sell everything that they own to finance donations. Only when followers sacrifice all their worldly possessions, will their financial prayers be properly answered, the church says.

Just because other churches/church you got to isn’t growing like the UCKG they are doing the work of God and of course they need money to grow you have to buy things with money, thats how this world works. Just because tithe is mentioned in the old testament and not the new that does not mean we make our own rules and disobey God. You have to ask yourself are you saved? Do you have good eyes? well as a new comer to the UCKG you don’t seem to have the Holy Spirit because if you did, you would want to see the work of God grow rapidly and many people saved no matter what it takes.

As a former pastor of the UCKG our main aim was to gather as many people to the Church as possible so that we can gather more cash from people.
In our meeting with the Bishop every Thursday in the Rainbow Theatre, Finsbury Park, LONDON, UK we are thought how to get into the minds of the people so that they would trust us when we preach about giving, their life savings, possessions, etc.
In the campaign of Israel which the church does twice a year we recieve millions of pounds in total.!!!!! Not to mention the volunteers who are church members that freely go out in the streets to collect money for the church in the freezing cold all over LONDON.

I am a busy man Moses. I am not writing on here simply because I am bored. I am writing on here because I think that it is extremely important to expose false prophets and thus extremely dangerous organisations. Especially during a recession when vulnerable are even more susceptible.

Your reading of The Bible is ridiculous. Picking quotes out and inferring literal meaning in them without any context is meaningless. Or at least it would be if the UCKG were not doing it in the pursuit of extracting cash from the poor to give to the corrupt rich.
Tithing does not mean that you should give your money away – so that Macedo and the other leaders of the UCKG can spend it on material goods for themselves. The Bible states that you should not store up material goods on earth. Tithing’s real meaning within The Bible is to impress on man that you should be spiritually fulfilled rather than materially fulfilled. It means that money is not important. Yet the UCKG is obsessed with money.
If the UCKG has nothing to hide then why not allow public videotaping of its services? With the hi-tech state of technology these days there is no reason for the cameras to be intrusive. After all, a house of God is supposed to be open to all. And why not post such videos online so as to promote yourselves?

There is a person eating food from the rubbish bin, if you come to him and tell him not to eat from the bin because that food will be harmful for him, he might be angry at you and tell you off. But if instead going there and complain with him about his food, saying that his food is not good and he should leave it aside. GIVE TO HIM something better, for sure he will leave it aside and get what you are offering him.
There is no doubt that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, but we must congregate right? So if you find a church that opens 7 days a week, that has 4 services a day or more, that has a chain of websites with messages of faith, help the people who suffer with domestic violence, has groups to visit you in hospital if you need, that goes to prison, has a TV program, a radio program, a church that even if you go overseas it is there in the country you are going, if you need counseling they can hear you over the phone or 101, if you don’t have to schedule a time to talk to a pastor because at any hour of the day that you pop in they are there for you.
Well if you find that church please make a post on your blog and spread the word to everyone of your contacts. As for now, since I believe you can’t find another church that do it except from the UCKG, please be quiet.
I’m not an ex-pastor of the UCKG and I can say, this Michael was never a pastor from the UCKG.

Jay your very pasionate about exposing uckg bcuz of your stepdaughter experiance. i got that. i was a visiter for a minute i went to some services in Houston texas at beachnut, shepherd and south west freeway. i kept hearing about the church and i got curoius about what the fuss was all about.
let me tell you what i seen at beachnut i didnt talk to no one because i wanted to obsurve. real good people worshiping jesus, i think a lot of them its just normal people there to praise jesus for salvation. a lot of them are probably go from paychex to paychex but they look happy to be at the church. the people as majoridy there latinos like me.
the other place at shepherd was kinda small top floor in a buillding, reall small room. the main room on the lobby was big, that was for the spanish people and upsteairs for the americans. again good people praising and worshiping. i think upstaeiars i dont think the pastor was to good, its like he was looking for his words to come out. im not sure.
the last place at south west freway i was suprized to see the same pastor from the beachnut place. it was mix but not as big as the latinos. more good people praising jesus. the pastor was kinda a snob by the way he was talking. i asked somebody to show me his wife she looked so cold like she didnt wanna be there.
what i ddidnt like was the money part. this economy is not what it used to be so people are strugling. i think it was wrong to preach so much time on money and a small time preaching for the grace of jesus and the cross. jesus died on the cross for our sins and we dont need to sale everything to give to no church. then what you gonna do when we gotta pay people , we got contracts with people to pay them come every month. so i didnt agree with that preaching at all.
what people need to do is put aside money for the church whatever they can aford, not what the pastor is preaching bcuz not everybody make the same money with the same bills. i got 4 kidz and if all i can pay is $4 or 5 on a sunday, thats fine bcuz thats all I can pay. how can the pastor tell me i gotta bring $50 or 70 and i got 4 kidz. that broke my heart, i was crying on the inside for the people that suffer bcuz of this preaching.
dont beleive that jesus will only hear you bcuz of your sacrifyce. jesus don’t need our money , the church need it to pay there rent, light bills bcuz the church is open everyday. i cant say about the lifestiles bcuz i dont know the pastors but they looked good with high qualidy clothes.
i forgot 1 more thing, the young people working there, they look tired with glassy eyes like there not sleeping. man, i dont know what to make of that church but i cant judge them bcuz we are not suposed to do that.
my advise to people at uckg, pray to jesus and give what you can aford , bcuz come a rainy day, you’ll need your money for something. will uckg be there for you or any other church? think about that.

I know tithing is difficult to understand and I have fought with the idea long and hard and spoke just as most of you here but I found that Jesus or in the whole new testament there never spoke against tithes specifically , against worrying bout the foods we eat and circumcision
But not tithes Jesus didn’t come to change the law but to reinforce & fulfill so in part we still use the law but also in faith of Jesus , just because we are under grace it Dos’nt mean we do whatever we feel like.
For example ,It’s like if we were going to be executed by electric chair for a crime we did then we would be under the law but if a judge or head of state comes in and frees us from this punishment then we are no longer under law but under grace , because if we are under the law we would be dead , can you see the link?
Jesus is the guy that’s giving us grace but that dosnt mean we run around and start doing crimes again right ??
And as for the success of the churchs,
If you look at church’s that are successful it is because they know the power of the word of God and believe in it’s power and the promises that are there in the bible, so why should’nt they be successful when everyone even you can be successful no matter what your talent may be just go out in an intelligent faith and action and believe that with God in charge he will make it happen.

No Tithing for Christians. At no time were first-century Christians commanded to pay tithes. Thank you for this site Jaycueaitch. I came across it whilst searching for information on this deceptive ‘church’. I am a born-again Christian and have recently discovered that a dear relative is a member of this church in Nottingham. He is giving his money to this ‘church’ and loves the fact that they seem so ‘caring’ as they always ring him and seem to ‘care’. He is in a very vunerable state as he is dying. They preach that God does not want people in debt and we have to give to get out of debt. For all the supporters/deceived out there can give me ONE scripture where it says God will take you out of debt if you give money whilst in debt I would be grateful. But it does NOT exist – so I will be waiting a long time for someone to take a completely random scripture, twist it and then post it back to me. That is what false teachers do! I do believe that the true ‘Jesus’ that I know and love can remove him from this mess and open his eyes to the false teaching and manipulation they have him under. He gave me the ‘Faith’ magazine and I am so glad I took it as I now have their own articles to hold up to true Biblical scripture and show him the errors.
I am sorry that your step-daughter was hurt by so-called ‘Christians’ and I pray that she finds the true Jesus of the Bible by the Holy Spirit who alone leads to TRUTH.

Some say the “pastors don’t make you give money to the campaign”. Yes, they don’t force you to give. All they do is stuff your throat in every service about sacrificing for an answer to your prayer. Pay attention to EVERY service they give. For every bible passage they read…they manage to tie it in to giving money. It never fails. I’ve been a member of the church for almost 3 years because of my wife and the way they twist bible verses to con people out of money is ridiculous. Whats MORE ridiculous is how ignorant the poor people are. Most of the time during service I’m praying to God to give wisdom to the people of the church. I pray to give the pastor a conscience so that he himself can expose the true intentions of the church. For those people who condone this behavior that have been posting, thats how badly brainwashed you are.

No one at the UCKG is forced to do anything, everyone has their own free will to choose to follow the suggested methods that can help to change their lives and have a relationship with God or not. Pastors at the UCKG do not “force” or “manipulate” but strongly advise people to take part in movements of faith such as the campaign of Israel or tithing because it is evident that these actions can change peoples lives as demonstrated by the many testimonies as a result of them. Everything preached and taught at the UCKG corresponds with the bible and has helped to build many peoples lives because what they teach is always positive and beneficial for our lives.
Many people despise the UCKG because there they speak the truth point blank no sugar-coating and for some the truth is hard to accept so they would rather leave the church than to humble themselves and accept the truth. Others simply want to speculate about the church, never having been to the church nor seen or experienced anything themselves, but feel the need to persecute without knowing anything whatsoever; even in a court of law a case without concrete evidence is not valid.
For those who attend the UCKG, amen! Only we truly know the work of God done by the UCKG. keep fighting for your salvation as that’s the most important thing and lets work harder to save these lost souls. For those who left the church and/ or persecute the church, I pray that God opens up your hearts and minds to see His truth. For the atheists I respect you for standing for your beliefs even if I don’t agree with them – but because it takes courage to do that; however, be open minded because even if you don’t believe that God, Heaven or hell exists and one day when you die and you find out that its true they don’t exist than fair enough you don’t lose anything but if you die and find out that God does exist it will be too late to do anything about it and you will have everything to lose – better safe than sorry! so I also pray that God shows you the truth and that when you get an opportunity to be saved you take it.

I would advise all of you who are against the UCKG, to get yourselves the copy of Bishop Macedo biography named Nothing to Lose. I am wondering why I have not seen or felt robbed for 15 years that I’ve been in this Church? I have learnt to use my faith in an unlimited way. Ive been in campaigns of Isreal most of my time in the church,and I have seen results of my sacrifices. God does not look at the amount you give but your heart and determination. I will never stop giving my tithe either in the house of God, because I see the work it does for the poor in my country. We get the preaching of Salvation EVERYDAY not only prosperity as many highlighted that.
